Cedar Environmental Launches VIEVERTE Bagged Compost Product
2005-06-01
Cedar Environmental has launched the first bagged compost product manufactured in Lebanon under the label brand "VieVerte" (Greenlife).
The extensive testing done on the bagged compost produced from Cedar's MRFs throughout the country has proven the quality of the final product to be outstanding. Further, we have benchmarked our bagged compost against standards by the US EPA, the European Union Standards for general compost application, The EU standards for Class A+ compost application in organic farming and finally the Standards Council of Canada. (Please review table below).
The bagged compost product is entirely of organic origins without any addition of chemical or artificial elements. It is free of sand and red soil and consists of more than 99% by volume of vegetable components which have undergone composting and maturation.
Furthermore, the bagged compost is free from Salmonella and Fecal Coliforms, is rich in minerals and trace metals.
A complete analytical profile of the compost produced is available by following this link: Full Lab Results.
12 Benefits for Using Compost:
1- Improves soil structure and porosity _ Creating a better plant root environment.
2- Increases moisture infiltration and permeability, and reduces bulk density of heavy soils _ improving moisture infiltration rates and reducing erosion and runoff.
3- Improves the moisture holding capacity of light soils _ reducing water loss and nutrient leaching, and improving moisture retention.
4- Improves the cation exchange capacity (CEC) of soils.
5- Supplies organic matter.
6- Aids the proliferation of soil microorganisms.
7- Supplies beneficial microorganisms to soil and growing media.
8- Encourages vigorous root growth.
9- Allows plants to more effectively utilize nutrients, while reducing nutrient loss by leaching.
10- Enables soils to retain nutrients longer.
11- Contains Humus _ assisting in soil aggregation and making nutrients more available for plant uptake.
12- Buffers soil pH.
